Serigraph by H. Claude Pissarro

Les_rhododendrons_22x29_claude_pissHugues Claude Pissarro, father of lelia Pissaro, is the grandson of the Impressionist painter Camille Pissarro and son of Paulemile Pissarro. Born in Neuilly-sur-Seine and enveloped in an artistic environment, he spent his childhood and youth with art. Carrying on a family tradition established by Camille Pissarro, his father frequently took Hugues on painting excursions, accompanied by his numerous artist friends, and these proved formative for him. Initially taught by his father, Hugues Pissarro first exhibited his work at the age of fourteen. He subsequently studied art in Paris at prestigious establishments such as Ecole du Musée du Louvre and, in particular, at Ecole Normale Supérieur, a unique French institution dedicated to the pursuit of achievement and excellence to which only the academic elite have access. It was inevitable that this educational background would lead him to become a professor of art for much of his professional life and in 1965 he accepted an official invitation to teach art in Monaco. He was even commissioned by the White House in 1959 to paint President Eisenhower. Below is a signed limited edition serigraph the Westport River Gallery has by Claude Pissarro/ Size of the image is 22x29. Impressionist Art by Lelia Pissarro

Lelia_pissaro_summerLélia Pissarro has painted since the age of 4, having been educated by her grandfather Paulémile Pissarro and her father H. Claude Pissarro
From infancy until the age of eleven she was entrusted to the care of her grand-parents, Paulémile Pissarro and his wife Yvonne, in Clécy, Suisse Normandy, where her interest in drawing and painting was nurtured by her grandfather who taught her the fundamental impressionist and post-impressionist techniques. When she returned to her parents in Paris at the age of 11, the role of teacher was taken over by her father and she subsequently studied at l’Ecole des Beaux-Arts. Lélia moved to London in 1988 and her work has regularly been exhibited in galleries around the world, and following the tradition of her great-grandfather (Camille Pissarro), grandfather and father, Lélia has played an important role in continuing this artistic dynasty by participating in a series of exhibitions entitled Pissarro – The Four Generations.

Impressionist French Artist Kaprielian

Kaprielian_paris_bistro Yetvart Kaprielian has been listed in the E. Benezit, the prestigious world-recognized "Who's Who" of painters and sculptors since 1999. Born in 1959, Yetvart Kaprielian has been painting since 22. He travels throughout the Ile-de-France, Normandy, Brittany, Provence, and the riverbanks of Seine. Kaprielian expresses through touches of luminous and sparkling colors a harmony of reflections. Many of his works are available through the Westport River Gallery, in Connecticut, USA

The waterside communities in Kaprielian's paintings are a balance of serenity and bustling activity. He so well captures quaint village life in a sophisticated and detailed way. Since 1984, Yetvart Kaprielian has regularly been shown in several salons in Paris and at exhibitions in France and abroad. His work continues to garner enthusiasm in the art world as Kaprielian continues to paint with the quality and determination of his impressionist predecessors. Among his most recent collectors is the Royal Family of Morocco.

Henri Lepetit Paints Westport, Southport

Westport River Gallery is introducing new scenes of Westport, Fairfield and Southport beaches and boating areas. Born in Brussels in 1956 Henri Lepetit is almost larger then life, an Indiana Jones character who seems to have done everything, from bagging spitting cobras in the Ivory Coast when he was only 13, to fighting for "C" Squadron of the S.A.S! With skydiving an ongoing hobby he has been a world adventurer who has extracted every possible emotion from his incredibly varied lifestyle. Art has always had a dominant place in his life and this natural talent means that from the early age of 16 he paid for many of his world trips by painting and selling his works en route. With no formal art education he has always had to rely on the public at large to be his severest critic. There are a bunch of pictures from Southport and Westport. Below is Compo Beach, Westport.
