  • Westport River Gallery is in Westport, Connecticut, 30 minutes from NYC, and located along the Saugatuck River. The gallery is at the junction of the Post Rd. (Rte 1) and Riverside Ave. (Rte 33). We are accessible from both the Conn. Turnpike (I-95) and the Merritt Parkway (Rte 15). Both intersect with Route 33. We are open Wed.- Fri. (11-4:30); Sat., 11-5; Sun. DABERE, Pascal (French)

Poppies_dabereFrench artist Pascal Dabere is the recipient of countless awards for his extraordinary talent, five Gold Medals from France and one from London for his oil paintings and Gold Medals for his work with pastels. His honorable mentions are many and stem from all over the world. Dabere is in numerous private collections and exhibits continuously, in Holland, Belgium, Britain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Canada.

Born in 1956 at Saint Jeoire in Faucigny he studied painting at Ville de Paris, on rue Lepic. He is a master of trompe l’oeil, still life and landscapes, which are filled with his enchanting clouds. Dabere greatly admires Turner, Boudin and Sisley, all of whom were fascinated by the open air and the ever-illusive fleeing clouds. Dabere’s inspiration stems from France’s greatest painter of the still life, Jean-Simeon Chardin (1699-1779).
