DOURNAUD, Jacques (French)

DourWhether the subject is music, the library or dinner, the work of French artist Jacques Dournaud is fluid, flexible, uplifting and colorful. His modern dynamic work is inspirational and yet, quite fun. Dournaud is internationally known as the winner of many medals for his artwork, he is an award-winning TV program producer, and is vice president of the Academy of European Artists. Jacques has been interested in painting since his childhood, when he took up the brush, painted caricatures, and visited many, many galleries. For Dournaud, “painting comes from the heart.”

“I want to put a bit of fantasy in my painting which can create a wonderful ambience laced with a touch of nostalgia. My images are created so they can be hung in the living room, the bedroom, the library, or even the middle of a boat. I want to capture the ambiance of happiness, the moment of joy, and the moment of relaxation.” Now in his 60s, he lives in France near Versailles, teaches theater and painting, and is the director/producer of a hit TV show for the World Wildlife Fund about biology, and animals in their habitats. His TV stories have been published in the well-known Nathan and Bordas. He has won numerous distinctions for his unique artistic style. He is a member of the Society of French artists, from whom he has won the silver medal; he has also won the bronze medal from the Arts, Science and Letter society; the bronze medal for first prize in the Humanitarian of France award; the International grand prize of Deauville; and last year just won the gold medal from the Society of France Academy.
